As funny as the title to this page sounds, static flexing is the final step in your process to get those amazing six pack abs and your smoking flat stomach. When you have mastered this technique you will be getting attention and complements from all over. Maybe even from people you don't even know!

Static flexing teaches your body to look tight, ripped, and tone all at the same time. This process will definitely take some time, but once you achieved the permanent static flexing abs, your mid-section will be able to rival any other mid-section.

What Is Static Flexing?

The idea of static flexing emerged from when men used to suck in their stomachs as much as they could when a lady walked by. Even though they were out of shape, sucking in their stomachs for that short amount of time, made them look slightly more attractive than they usually would.

As this failing technique continued to catch on, it wasn't long before those that were actually in shape started to catch on. They modified this technique so that instead of sucking in your stomach, you focused on flexing your abdominal muscles. In turn, the body eventually learned that their six pack abs were to remain flexed.

The technique is called static flexing. It is where you manually teach your body to keep your abdominal muscles flexed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is sort of like a constant endurance workout for your abs before they have to take a break and relax. The more you practice, the longer your abs will be able to maintain their look.

The Technique

Whether you currently have a beer belly or you are starting to see your flat stomach or six pack abs appear, it is time to start focusing on static flexing. The technique is actually quite simple, but remembering to do it will be the hard part.

First you need to start flexing your abs. This sounds fairly easy but keeping abs flexed for long periods of time will become exhausting to your mid section. No matter what you are doing (running, sitting, eating, etc.) your goal is to work on keeping abs flexed for as long as possible.

When you flex your abs and keep them in this static position you will need to focus on your breathing. Many have a tendency to stop breathing when they flex any muscle in their body.

So, while you are doing static flexing, slowly breathe in and out to inform your body that you are still at rest. Go ahead and try this now. How long did you last? If you lasted more than 5 minutes, then congratulations! You are definitely ahead of the field. If you didn't last that long, don't worry about it, some can barely keep their abdominals in this static position for more than 15 seconds.

Then I'd invest in a workout plan that is curtailed to your every goal. Workout Pass is an incredible collaboration of certified personal trainers that make a workout schedule and routine for each and every customer. This will help you in your short term and long term goals for reaching your dream body.

Whenever your core abdominal muscles give out, give your body a few minutes of rest. Preferably you should not give your body more than 5 minutes of rest. After this break, go ahead and flex your abs again and continue doing whatever you were doing.

You will repeat this process indefinitely. As you continue to use the static flexing technique you will start to notice that you won't have to give your six pack abs or flat stomach as many breaks as you used to.

The goal is to eventually be able to keep your abs flexed forever. Realistically this would be the entire day you are consciously awake. With practice you will be able to get to this point, so don't get discouraged if you are having to give your abs a lot of rest when you first start.

Just like anything when it comes to your body, your body needs the time to learn and understand what you are wanting to make it do.

Reality

Although the above technique is great, life can be very busy. In reality, you will probably forget to keep your abs flexed for some of the time because your life gets too hectic or for any of the other endless reasons there are.

Because of this, it's important to flex your abs the second you think of it. If you are committed to reaching your goals, eventually the idea of static flexing will cross your mind. When it does, check to see if your abs are flexed.

If your abs are flexed, that's great! Keep up the good work. On the other hand, if your abs aren't flexed, flex them and then keep it in the back of your mind that they need to stay flexed while you continue your daily routine. Eventually this will become second nature and you will never think anything of it.

The Benefits

Other than keeping your abs close to your body giving you that great, sexy, and tone look, there are a few other benefits that go along with static flexing.

The most important benefit is that you will be burning calories at a higher rate than usual. When your body is at rest, it will burn fewer calories than when your body is flexed. Therefore, the more you practice this technique, the more calories you will burn in a day.

This means that the longer that you can work on keeping abs flexed, the more calories you will burn in a day. In turn, this will help you lower your body fat percentage in order to increase the visibility of your tone flat stomach and ripped six pack abs.

Lastly, when your abs are flexed your balance will be improved. If you ever sit and think about it, when someone pushes you the first thing that flexes is that place where you were pushed and your abs. This is because your abdominals are the main support for your entire body's balance!
