There are millions of medical journals out there for you to read. These journals cover everything from individual cell actions to anatomy to exercise physiology. Being a teenager your body has not completely developed yet and your knowledge of your limits has not been defined.

The pressure of going to school looking your best, being in shape for a sports team, and wanting to look best for the opposite sex can make teenagers want to start working out before they biologically ready.

The implications of starting too early could mean stumping your growth and possibly having under developed joints. The reason this occurs is because your body is growing and changing according to your DNA. When outside forces that break down the body internally start to occur, your body has to move away from following your DNA instructions to keep your body from falling apart.

WebMD is a great source of information that is backed by medical journals and doctors from all over the world. This is a great place to start in order to learn about your body, its limits, and how exercises can affect your body at different stages of your life.

Another way to learn about your anatomy is to read The Truth About Six Pack Abs. The first portion of this book goes into detail of understanding your anatomy and how the body works. It is vital to have a good understanding of your body so you will be able to target your future six pack abs more effectively.

Limitations Of Medical Journals

Although research and medical journals go a long way, pure facts will not be enough to meet every single person in the world. As a teen it is important to understand your body, but it is also important to experience the facts for yourself.

Whether you want 6 pack abs or a flat stomach, when you are a teen you need to consult your physician and parents before starting any type of workout plans. Your personal health is much more valuable than gaining a little bit of muscle a year or two earlier than everyone else. If you are this motivated now, you still will be in the near future.

If you are told to wait because you are too young, ask the doctor about ways you can stay in shape without lifting weights. Usually this will include cardiovascular workouts such as running, swimming, or cardio machine routines.

You could be told that you are allowed to start training as long as you do not use weight. Teens frown upon this idea because they feel like those that are lifting weights are getting ahead and that their results will not be as impressive.

Although there is some slight truth to this, if you keep your ab workouts intense by taking very little time to rest in between each set and doing each set until you reach exhaustion, you will be fine.
