Core exercises are crucial to any fitness goal that you will ever want to obtain. Getting six pack abs, a flat stomach, increasing your balance, losing belly fat, and eliminating love handles all require exercises that focus on your core.

Your core consists of the abdominals, the obliques, and your erector spinal muscles. Increasing the strength of your core allows the body to be more efficient at moving that largest part of your body, the torso.

Bridge – This exercise is also known as the reverse plank. Start by lying on your back as if you were getting ready to do sit-ups so your knees are bent. Now, flex your abdominal muscles to lift your hips off of the floor. Hold the position for 5 seconds and then slowly lower yourself back down to the starting position.

Your goal should be to try to do at least 50 of these. You might not be able to do 50 reps right away but take your time, consistently workout, and you will get to your flat stomach goals.

Russian Twist– This compound ab workout focuses on your entire core allowing your upper and lower abs to get a good workout. Rotating around the static position forces your core abdominal muscles to grow stronger!

Crunch Finishing Position

Torso Rotation– This exercise is one of the best core exercises. The rotation pinpoints your obliques and the abdominal core.
